In The Round - Songwriters Showcase
In The Round - Songwriters Showcase
This “One Night Only” performance is the vision of the creative team at BruMar Productions. For the very first time, an audience will have the chance to see these six gifted Singer/Songwriters share the stage, their songs, and their stories. You will be amazed at the lyrics, orchestration, and depth created by these artists, all of whom have Wisconsin roots. Each musician will perform a series of their original work “In The Round,” followed by a special tribute remembering country music legend Glen Campbell. To top off the evening, the guys will shift into party mode to jumpstart your New Year’s celebrations with some of the best cover work you will ever hear. Strap on your seat belt and get ready for a night you will be talking about for years to come!

Ordinary Heathens

The Ordinary Heathens are a trio comprised of Kris Crow, Joe Hite and Phil Norby, three full-time Milwaukee musicians. All three have grown up in the music business, playing in a wide range of bands across a variety of genres and in several different cities across the country.

The Heathens were beyond excited to form a band that was not only all original, but whose music was not beholden to any particular style or genre. You can’t call their music country and you can’t call it pop. It’s toward an Americana sound, but has some curves and changes. What you can count on in the music of the Ordinary Heathens are well-written lyrics, interesting, but frequently sparse musical arrangements topped with stacks of rich vocal arrangements, sometimes straight forward and sometimes beautifully complex.

The Heathens completed their first album in May of 2017 and are currently working on their second release.

Ryan McIntyre

Ryan McIntyre is an award winning singer/songwriter from Waukesha, Wisconsin who performs over 200 shows a year and is a staple of the Wisconsin music scene. You will find him playing at Wisconsin’s top festivals including Summerfest, Wisconsin State Fair, and Bastille Days. In January 2018, Ryan will be performing his original work on the stage of Milwaukee’s historic Pabst Theater.
A 7 time WAMI Award Winner (Wisconsin Area Music Industry), McIntyre has also been named “Best of Milwaukee’s Acoustic Musician of the Year.”

Ryan’s original music has been featured in movies and television with song placement on HBO, Showtime, Disney Channel, and Discovery Channel. On the 6th season of NBC’s Nashville Star, Ryan competed his way to the “Nashville Round,” placing him in the top 50 of over 20,000 contestants.

Ryan recently released his first children’s album, “Songs for Nap Time and Nighttime” to critical acclaim and is currently in the studio working on “The Bright Side” album, which will be available in early 2018.

Myles Wangerin

Myles Wangerin started playing guitar at age 11 while also singing in high school. His early influences include James Taylor, Keith Urban, John Mayer, Garth Brooks, Vince Gill and The Eagles.
Called "The Workingman's Musician" by 30 West Magazine, Myles completed his first album entitled "Wasting Time And Wasting It Well" which was released back in April.
Wangerin has had the honor to play alongside other successful musicians like Ryan McIntyre, Keith Pulvermacher, Nora Collins, Brecken Miles and with the band Crossfire. You will find Myles playing consistently around Southeast Wisconsin, playing a range of music from Merle Haggard to Tom Petty, George Strait to Jason Isbell in addition to his original work.

Jay Matthes

Jay Matthes is a singer/songwriter from Milwaukee, Wisconsin who performs over 125 shows per year and has shared the stage with national acts such as Jana Kramer, Old Dominion, Judah & The Lion, Ike Reilly Assassination, Charlie Worsham and many more. Ben Kieffer of Iowa Public Radio describes Jay's sound as "soulful country" and The Rave/Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee calls his live show "entertaining as hell".
Jay's original music has been featured on local, regional, and national radio and television, most notably The Country Network where the music video for his single "The Light" is currently in rotation. Press has included features in The Modern Folk, Americana Daily, Breaking & Entering, and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, among others.
Jay was nominated for Singer/Songwriter of the Year by Wisconsin Area Music Industry in 2015, 2016 and 2017, and recently won Best Male Vocalist in Shepherd Express' Best of Milwaukee.
